Although it may have been more personal if i had made the book myself, i felt it would fit my subject more if i had it more professionally and cleanly made so i decided to use photobox
i chose to use the a4 standard template but start from scratch so that i could still create the style and effect i imagined in my head
i initially wanted a yellow cover but that was not a choice so i chose dark blue as it is the other colour of the ball and would tie the whole book together as it is a common colour throughout the book.
The cover is a peep hole design which i found to be different than most books i have previously seen, so on the inside cover i put the picture i took of the ball as well as the quote i found that i felt summarised korfball well. then on the second page i explain what korfball is as most people would be unaware and it allows more context to be built before continuing on to the photos.
i decided to split the book up into pre-game, during game, post game and portraits as with my final choice of photos it fit well. i use these headings within the book. on the right hand page throughout the book i also provide quotes from my video research but each time the layout is different to make it more interesting and so the book isn’t just the same throughout. Also on some of the pages i chose to use a collage layout so that similar pictures could be seen side by side and the layout wasn’t the same on each page. On the final page i decided to create a collage of 4 team photos as i felt it summarised and concluded to book well by seeing all of the age groups and variety of people that play.
Below are the screenshots of my book layout:
